IBM introduced the Lotus Notes traveller software which can extend Lotus Notes to many of the rapidly growing mobile devices like Apple iPhone, Windows mobile and Nokia smartphones. Lotus Notes version 8.5.1 is the first version to support iPhone through this traveller software which synchronizes emails, contacts and Calenders. The Symbian platform for Nokia is updated with a handful of features supporting IT professionals and the business community.

Additionally IBM has decided to provide Lotus Domino Designer tools for free of cost to enable the growth of Lotus Notes and Domino applications. Domino designer helps developers to extend the existing applications for Notes and Domino. The developers can download the Lotus Domino designer at free of cost from www.ibm.com/developerWorks/downloads
